Burlcore Mining drives infrastructure investment across Busia, Uganda.
Burlcore Mining Company Limited continues to make practical, on-the-ground investments in the infrastructure that defines daily life in Busia, Uganda, ranging from road maintenance and drainage works to the recently completed Mawero water project.
Reliable infrastructure underpins both community wellbeing and economic activity in rural East Africa. By focusing its community programme on the basics, water, drainage and access roads, Burlcore is helping the villages surrounding its concession connect more easily to schools, clinics and regional markets.
The company's civil works in Mawero, which resolved a long-standing water crisis and improved flood resilience during the rainy season, sit alongside ongoing road grading and maintenance carried out across the district. Together, these projects represent a sustained, multi-year commitment to the operating environment Burlcore shares with its neighbours.
This approach reflects Burlcore's view that responsible mining is measured not only by what happens at the pit, but by the durability of the improvements left in the communities surrounding it.
